Structured cabling is defined as a bundle of phone, cable, satellite and network cabling. All cables are home-run to a logical central hub location such as a garage, utility closet, basement, or attic. The Super cable / Multi Media that Custom Electronic Systems, Inc. is capable of installing is made up of the following cable types:
Two CAT5E cables – Each containing 4 pairs of twisted cable typically, one CAT5E cable is reserved for up to 4 dedicated phone or fax lines per location installed. The second CAT5E cable is reserved for high-speed networking applications such as the sharing of your existing high-speed Cable Modem or DSL connection throughout the house (with the addition of optional networking equipment). A SUPER cable is terminate at a three jack outlet with Lines 1 and 2 on top, Lines 3 and 4 in the middle, and Network on the bottom. Lines 1-4 are any combination of direct or FAX lines.
Two RG6 Quad-Shield Coaxial cables – Typically, one coax is reserved for your Cable TV (i.e. Comcast or Cablevision), while the second coax is reserved for Satellite TV (i.e. DirecTV or Dish Network).
In addition to the SUPER cable mentioned above, Custom Electronic Systems, Inc. can also address additional single cable Cat -5, coax or network type runs tailored specifically for your needs.
