Computer Networking for your Home

If you own multiple PCs, you have probably thought about how great it would be if your computers could talk to each other. With your computers connected, you could:

There are a couple of different ways to network your computers within your home. One of these methods is a hard-wired network where Cat5e cable is run throughout your home with Ethernet wall outlets in strategic locations that you could plug your computer into the wall and be connected to your network. WiFi is the wireless way to handle networking. It is also known as 802.11 networking and wireless networking. The big advantage of WiFi is its simplicity. You can connect computers anywhere in your home without the need for wires. The computers connect to the network using radio signals, and computers can be up to 100 feet or so apart. WiFi can even allow network access outside the home such as the patio, pool area or yard.

A combination of these two methods is also possible with a few hard-wired locations for added security and a WiFi network to allow access to any other computers within you home.

Custom Electronic Systems, Inc. uses the best quality Cat5e cabling and the following manufacturers of networking products.
